Hello Readers!
Trying out a new platform, which I’ll get into later. Super psyched for the release of both Many Gods No Masters #3 and the cookbook Bake Your Neighbor a Pie. Let’s dig into MGNM first.

Sparrows over West Virginia: Many Gods No Masters #3 cover
I’ve been sitting on a half-completed version of this one for about a year and a half, and a recent snow storm that pretty much shut down Huntington for a few days lit a fire under me to complete it. If MGNM 1 is about the Irish Pantheon and grief, and 2 is about my struggle to find a label, 3 is about me reluctantly accepting Christopagan to describe my beliefs.
There’s a handful of articles about it that including ones about my Evangelical childhood, the concept of forgiveness, what it means to be a Quaker, and how my friends and I got put in charge of the local Unitarian church. Pick up your copy on my Etsy store here.
Speaking of which!

This is another zine that’s been in the works since 2024! Originally slated to be a benefit cookbook for Mothman Mutual Aid, we pivoted when the program was joined with Huntington Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. There’s a lot of great recipes, including some from yours truly. The proceeds from this zine will help the church with completing repairs, offering programming, and funding community outreach like our Moth Cupboard. Grab your copy here!
You may be saying to yourself, Gee, Elliott, weren’t we all on Substack just a week or two ago? And yep, that was true. WAS being the operative word. I’d hear rumblings of Substack platforming far-right hate groups, but I hadn’t really looked into it. Then a zinemaking Discord group I’m in dropped this link: Revealed: How Substack makes money from hosting Nazi newsletters | Substack | The Guardian
In good conscience I couldn’t keep helping those folks make money. I’m trying out this new platform that my buddy Rich uses for his newsletter the Dichotomy of the Dog (highly recommend!) and so far, it seems to be a lot better suited to what I need. Lemme know your thoughts!
I’ll be vending at the West Virginia Punk Rock Flea Market on Saturday, March 21! There’s gonna be a lot of my buds both vending and playing music. I’m also slated to print the WVPRFM zine, which looks like it’ll have a lot of cool stuff inside.
We’ll be holding the first volunteer meeting to plan the 2026 Jewel City Zine fest on Sunday, February 15 at the Huntington Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 6 PM. If you’re interested in helping and aren’t local or can’t make it to the meeting, check out our Discord here!
We’re also in the beginning stages of plotting new updates to the Huntington Zine Library at HACkS! We’ll have some cool events coming up, including the return of Zine Hangout! Keep your calendars open and check out HACkS on Instagram.
In Elliott news, I have a new job doing tech support! It was incredibly bittersweet leaving the Children’s Museum, but this new adventure has proven to be challenging in a good way so far. I’m also leaving Whitfield Academy, my studio home for the past two years. I love Mike and am glad one of my other buds is taking over my spot. Creating a home studio is going to require a lot of work and finagling this winter/spring. We desperately need some new bookshelves for Lenny, which will be the linchpin in getting this setup to work.
Things I’ve Dug Recently:
Sorry to Bother You | Damion Suomi & the Minor Prophets | making music and audio projects with my buds | the field recordings tag on Bandcamp | zero sugar chocolate pudding | having weekends off again | waking up early to read | Silas House | researching the Gnostic Gospels | kombucha | JER | Tapegirl | the new Cricketman single | this god-awful ice finally thawing out with warmer weather
Thanks for reading!
Much love,
